VERWOOD Town's stuttering form continued as they fell to a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Shaftesbury in Division One.
Adie Arnold thought his side had "70 or 80 per cent" of the game but failed to break down a resolute Shaftesbury side, who were content with soaking up pressure and looking to hit the hosts on the counter attack.
"I'm very disappointed with the result," Arnold told the Daily Echo.
"We struggle against sides like them and got caught with a sucker punch near the end."
Verwood are now 14 points behind leaders Tadley Calleva in seventh position.
Verwood Town: Willis, Freeman, Lynch, Yerby, Homer, Dyer, Beverley, Arnold, Reeves (Truan 60), Elysee, Goodall.
