WIMBORNE Town boss Christer Warren thinks star winger Kevin James is "unplayable" when in the sort of form he showed in Magpies' storming victory over Bemerton.

Although James was not one of the Wimborne scorers, Warren described his performance as "awesome".

"Kev James and Steve Whitcher were brilliant, it was nice for Whitch to get his two goals," Warren told the Daily Echo.

"But Kev was awesome. I think he's unplayable in this sort of form.

"He loves running at people. A lot of our goals come from Kev.

"He's not afraid to take people on and he makes things happen. If he's not creating for himself he's doing it for other people."

Whitcher's brace and goals from James Stokoe and Scott Arnold, as well as an own goal, ensured Warren's side kept in touch with Wessex Premier Division leaders Poole Town.

The Cuthbury club trail Dolphins by just five points and can overtake their rivals if they win two games in hand.

Warren described Arnold's strike on Saturday as a "cracker".

"It was at an angle from outside the box and he drilled it three or four centimetres off the ground. It was a brilliant strike," said Warren.

But the Wimborne boss was not happy that his side allowed the visitors to get on the scoresheet.

He said: "The disappointing thing was to concede a goal.

"It was 2-0 and they scored in the last couple of minutes of the first half.

"It could've been four or five at half-time because we created so many chances.

"For 44 minutes we were brilliant but it was a one minute lack of concentration.

"It was all about us in the second half, we created a number of chances.

"We're ticking along nicely and scoring a lot of goals."
