TEENAGE striker Steve Smith keeps banging in the goals in his debut Wessex season to impress Dolphins boss Tommy Killick.
The 19-year-old cracked Poole Town ahead in the second minute and bagged another after the break as they retained top spot in the table.
Gary Funnell and Ben Osborne, with his first goal for Dolphins, were also on the scoresheet against struggling Downton.
Smith has 20 league goals for the season, one behind Premier Division hotshot Scott Joyce, and Killick said: "Steve probably could have scored three or four more in the first half against Downton.
"He had the chances but couldn't quite convert them.
"Steve is only 19. He has come from playing a lower standard (with Blandford) and he is doing well.
"He probably didn't have one of his best games but he still ended up with two goals.
"We continue to be pleased with him."
Killick added: "We won 4-0 but it wasn't a particularly fluent or satisfying performance.
"The game never really got going. It was certainly solid rather than spectacular."
Poole Town: Frampton, Whitley, Skelton (Bowden 60), Yelland, Funnell, Culliford (C Smith 60), T Smith, S Richardson, Sturgess, S Smith (Lima 75), Osborne. Unused subs: Brown, Reeves.
