ICE-COOL Steve Whitcher slammed in Wimborne's last-gasp winner as they became the first side to beat Cowes on the island in the league this season.
He went in bravely for a 50-50 through ball with Cowes' goalkeeper and poked it home with only four minutes to go.
Ashley Wright had given Cowes the lead with a first-half penalty before Scott Joyce made it 21 league goals for the season when he equalised before half time.
Joyce converted from the spot after James Stokoe had been pulled down chasing a Scott Arnold pass.
Warren said: "In the first half it was probably the worst we have played all season.
"Looking at Cowes' results, I think it is just a mental thing why people are losing there.
"It is a long way to go and if you are not right you can see why they grind out results.
"But we asked for more from the players at half time and we got a great response.
"I'm proud of the players."
Wimborne's Sam Percival limped off with a hamstring injury.
Wimborne: Hutchings, Percival (Bailey-Pearce), Roast, Phillipson-Masters, Arnold, McCormack, Warren, James (Langrish), Vavrecka, Joyce, Stokoe (Whitcher). Unused sub: Moore.
- Bournemouth Poppies retrieved a point when Leigh Phillips got their 80th-minute equaliser in a 1-1 draw at AFC Totton.
Matty Troon had fired Totton into the lead when he converted a 67th-minute penalty.
