BOURNEMOUTH travel to Newton Abbot seeking revenge in the EDF Energy Intermediate Cup second round tomorrow (2.30pm).
The Lions lost 27-12 to the Devonians in the fourth round of last season's competition when Bournemouth coach David Dunn admitted: "The best team won."
Newton Abbot were riding high in South West Division Two West at the time but their form has slipped this term.
Like Bournemouth, they have won only two of their nine league outings.
But the Devon outfit are in a division lower than South West One Lions, who take the opportunity to "experiment" with their side tomorrow.
Dunn said: "We have one or two players who are pretty sore and carrying knocks, so we are resting several first choice players.
"James Payne comes back in at full back and Eddie Edwards returns to the wing, and both will start.
"We've also brought Jason Davies and James Burry into the squad and are resting captain Dan Cawley just to try and take the pressure off some of the main players because we are trying to keep everyone fresh.
"The players who are coming in have played very well in our second team in the Canterbury League and they are pushing for first team places."
Dunn added: "Because we have to play so many league games the chances to experiment are far and between.
"So these cup games let us look at those players in first team action."
Despite making changes that also see Dominick Davies, Anthony Dunkerley and Chris Hughes rested alongside Cawley from the side that beat St Ives 37-3 last Saturday, Dunn's side travel to Devon buoyed by two league wins on the bounce.
The coach said: "We go to Newton Abbot full of confidence.
"Their current form suggests they are not playing as well as they were last season, so it's a game that is there for the taking."
Bournemouth, given a bye in this season's first round, reached the last 16 in 2006-07 by beating Brixham (38-13), Henley Wanderers (42-0) and Weston-super-Mare (33-27).

- Bournemouth Nomads are away to North Dorset (2.15pm) and Swanage and Wareham visit Corsham (2pm) in the Dorset and Wiltshire 2nd XV Cup second round.
