CHERRIES midfielder Philip Billing suffered a shock 4-2 defeat at the hands of Brighton’s Neal Maupay in the last 16 of the ePremier League FIFA 20 invitational tournament.
Billing, who had beaten Southampton’s Angus Gunn 4-0 in the previous round, had been second favourite for the tournament overall before he was scuppered by the Seagulls striker.
The Danish star had scored using himself during the opening period of the games console contest and levelled the game at 2-2 thanks to a neat finish using Callum Wilson.
But Maupay got the better of the Cherries star having struck four times using former Cherries striker Glenn Murray.
The prize fund the players are competing for in the FIFA 20 tournament is being donated to the #PlayersTogether initiative, to help the NHS amid the coronavirus pandemic.
