MANAGER Eddie Howe admitted it was “doubtful” Nathan Ake would play again this season after hobbling off with a groin problem against Leicester.
The Netherlands international picked up the injury in the first half of his side’s 4-1 victory over the Foxes at Vitality Stadium.
He was replaced by Steve Cook having heroically stretched to block Jamie Vardy’s effort on goal with Cherries already one down.
Asked for an update on Ake following the contest, Howe said: “Nathan is sore. I think he has done something to his groin.
“With such a short time of the season left, I think it looks doubtful he will play again.”
Ake, who has made 29 appearances in the Premier League this season, was seen leaving the ground on crutches post-match.
Howe also gave an update on Joshua King, who was confirmed as missing the contest through a minor hamstring problem.
“We hope it isn’t serious but we won’t know really for the next couple of days,” said the Cherries boss.
