JUNIOR Stanislas is set to miss "at least a month" with the ankle injury he suffered against Millwall on Tuesday evening, boss Jason Tindall confirmed.
The versatile midfielder was forced off during the second half of the midweek draw following a collision with Lions ace Ryan Leonard.
And Tindall confirmed the 31-year-old, who was also ruled out for a spell earlier this season with a knock, is set for some more time on the sidelines.
"It’s a shame. Unfortunately Junior hobbled off as we saw on Tuesday night," said Tindall.
"He’s done some damage in his ankle. It’s not as bad as we first feared, which is the good news, but we’re still going to be without Junior for a period of time.
"It’s certainly going to be one where he is going to be out for I imagine at least a month. That’s all I can say at the minute with all the information that we’ve got.
"It’s a big blow for us, considering how well Junior was doing for the team, the impact that he had and it’s a shame that we now lose him for a period of time.
"Junior’s had his injury problems over the years and he’s always bounced back and he’s always come back strong.
"He’s a strong-minded character. Junior knows what he needs to do to get himself back and he’ll use that time to work extremely hard to make sure he comes back and he continues where he left off."
Stanislas has been in sparkling form for Cherries this season, seemingly putting past injury woes behind him to become an influential player in Tindall's side.
The former West Ham and Burnley man has netted seven times in his 18 appearances this season, a goal tally he has never bettered before in a single campaign.
But Tindall says the absence of Stanislas will present a chance for somebody else to step in.
"Like in life and certainly in football, when one door closes so to speak, another one opens and it’s an opportunity now for someone else to come into the team and show their quality and hopefully they take that opportunity," he said.
"But it’s certainly not nice when you lose one of your players and certainly a player that’s been in such good form for us.
"But the flip side of it is we’ve got a good squad and whoever comes in now to take Junior’s place, it’s down to them now to show their quality."
