POOLE swimmer Jacob Peters has been selected by Team GB for the upcoming Olympic Games.
Peters, 20, has been chosen by the British Olympic Association after the second phase of selection following last week's British Swimming Selection Trials.
The current GB swimming team for the delayed Tokyo 2020 event now stands at 28, including the pre-selected quartet of Adam Peaty, Duncan Scott, James Wilby and Luke Greenbank.
Former Poole Grammar School pupil Peters, a life member of Poole Swimming Club, now trains at Bath National Centre.
He won gold at the 2018 European Aquatics Championships in the 4x100 metre medley relay and specialises in butterfly.
Peters also won silver at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and was a British junior record holder.
“I’d be pretty confident that we are selecting the strongest swim team that has ever represented Team GB at an Olympic Games,” chef de mission Mark England said.
“We’ll see some special special moments in the pool in Tokyo.”
The Olympics are due to begin on July 23.
