GOALKEEPER Asmir Begovic is set to exit Cherries for Everton in the next 24 hours, the Daily Echo understands.
The Bosnian stopper has completed a medical with the Merseyside club and is set to put pen to paper on a deal with the Toffees.
He would likely join as backup to England number one Jordan Pickford with the Blues, as new manager Rafael Benitez looks to shape his squad.
Everton did have Robin Olsen on loan from Roma last season but with his deal expiring, the Blues have been after a new keeper.
And, at the time of writing, the Daily Echo understands a move for Begovic was set to be finalised, bringing to an end his four-year stay on the south coast.
The 34-year-old joined Cherries from Chelsea for £10million in the summer of 2017 and had been the club’s number one keeper for the majority of his first two Premier League seasons at the club.
He was then sent out on loan to Qarabag and Milan for the 2019-20 campaign, before returning to reclaim a first-team spot under Jason Tindall last season.
Begovic kept his place under previous head coach Jonathan Woodgate for the business end of last campaign, helping Cherries to a sixth-placed Championship finish.
But he did not go away with Cherries on their current pre-season training camp to Marbella and is set to exit from Vitality Stadium.
Begovic, who also played for Cherries on loan back in 2007, has featured 121 times for Cherries in all competitions.
