VERWOOD Town continued their fine form and compounded the woes of basement boys AFC Aldermaston in the process with another efficient performance.

Adie Arnold's side are right up in the promotion mix after extending their Division One unbeaten run to eight matches on Saturday.

"To be fair, they weren't the best side in the world," admitted Arnold.

"But we still had to go there, do the job and get the points."

Adam Faulkner and Pete King struck in the first half to give Verwood a comfortable cushion at the interval, before striker Dan Goodall took his tally for the season to 12 with a second-half brace.

Arnold said he was delighted for keeper Chris Willis, who kept his second consecutive clean sheet.

"He's only a young lad so I was pleased for him and it keeps our run going," said the Verwood boss.

"It keeps us tucked in there and it keeps us ticking over. It's the really big push now for the last part of the season.

"All we can do is keep picking points up and see what happens around us.

"There's still a lot of work to do but we'll keep knocking on the door."
