NEW Milton Town produced perhaps the most impressive display of the weekend as they abruptly ended Alton Town's fine run at Fawcett's Field.
The visitors, who had only lost once in their past 10 league games, found Trevor Parker's side too strong as Linnets cruised to victory with goals from Dave Ewen, Dan Pidgley and Ashley Booker.
"It was a good all-round game and it was really nice to score a few," said Parker, whose team had only managed to net twice in their six matches prior to Saturday.
"They looked very useful early doors and for the first 10 minutes we were under the cosh a bit.
"But we kept at it and gradually got ourselves right into the game."
Despite the win, Parker is still on the lookout for more firepower, with recent signing Robbie Fordham unlikely to figure much because of work commitments.
The victory lifted Linnets to 19th position in the Wessex Premier Division, seven points clear of the bottom three.
- Bournemouth Poppies' match at Hayling United was postponed.
