CHERRIES fans will have to wait a little longer to see new man Leif Davis in action, with injury continuing to keep the Leeds United loanee on the sidelines.
Boss Scott Parker last week revealed Davis was carrying "a little bit of a knock", which kept him out of Saturday's Carabao Cup success against Milton Keynes Dons.
And Friday night's Championship opener against West Bromwich Albion will also come too soon for the 21-year-old, but he could come back in time for the trip to Nottingham Forest on August 14.
"Leif is still a little bit short," Parker told the Daily Echo.
"Leif won’t be available for tomorrow.
"Progressing really well. I’d like to think he could be back or featuring around it for the next game.
"We’ll have to judge that early next week when we step up his work."
There were fears Jack Stacey could be set for some time on the sidelines after being forced off during the first half against MK Dons with a quad injury.
But Parker says the full-back could in fact make a swift recovery in time to play against the Baggies.
"Jack’s not as bad as we initially thought," said Parker.
"He’s out on the grass. We’ll make a call on that."
Parker also moved to clarify the situation regarding Ben Pearson, who has been suffering with illness.
The boss confirmed: "He’s back in tomorrow, picking up his work again. And then we’ll see where he is from there."
Chris Mepham is available to feature after serving a one-match ban, while Arnaut Danjuma has also resumed training following a foot injury.
Steve Cook and Lewis Cook are still ruled out through knee injuries, while Jefferson Lerma is suspended.
