OAKMEADIANS number eight Hayden Hokianga praised the "experience" of scrum-half Steve Harman after they had toppled Southern Counties South leaders Trowbridge 25-19 away.

Twice Harman "used all his experience to kick into the corner to set up Will Drummond for tries" as Trowbridge suffered only their second league loss of the season.

It was a "massive win for us", stressed Hokianga, who saw Ryan Stephenson's superb late solo try seal victory after it had been 20-19 with only three minutes to go.

Tom Stradwick scored Oaks' other touch down, while Jamie Tryska added one conversion and one penalty.

Hokianga said: "Will, who has come up through our colts system, made his debut on the wing and scored two really good tries.

"Adam Durrant also came in at flanker for his debut and played really well.

"We knew our season would be over if we didn't win and after losing to them last time, we targeted their forwards as their weakness.

"We really took it to them and to be fair we should have won by a bit more.

"At one point we only had 13 men on the pitch because Jack Hennings and Tom Blackburn had both been sin-binned and Trowbridge scored a try when we only had six forwards."

Oaks are five points behind Trowbridge, who remain on top despite their defeat, and still have an outside chance of promotion.

Hokianga wasn't getting carried away, though.

He said: "We are just targeting one game at a time and if, come the business end, we are up there, we will push really hard for it."
