BOSS Scott Parker insisted Cherries’ youngsters would learn from their baptism of fire at Norwich and insisted: “I will make sure of that.”
The Cherries head coach named a mix-and-match squad which included an array of youthful players, as well as more experienced heads coming back from injury and illness at Carrow Road.
The likes of Brennan Camp and substitute Ryan Glover made their inaugural senior appearances for the Dorset outfit, while Kyle Taylor was making his first competitive start since January 2019.
Gavin Kilkenny, Christian Saydee and Zeno Ibsen Rossi still also only have a limited number of match experience between them.
And while he admitted the 6-0 thumping at the hands of Daniel Farke’s side would not be easy for the young guns to stomach, Parker insisted they would emerge better following the contest.
He told the Daily Echo: “They can learn a lot. Now is probably not the time to highlight it to them because they are bitterly disappointed in there because you’ve just been on the end of one. That’s the way it is.
“But certainly they will learn from this experience. They will be better for it, 100 per cent. I will make sure of that but it was certainly a difficult night for them.
“I’ve been on the end of a few in 20 years in playing. There’s times like Tuesday.
“You need to learn from that really and the boys will as well.”
Cherries make the trip to Hull City back in Championship action on Saturday.
