CORSHAM'S bid to stage tomorrow's Southern Counties South clash with Oakmeadians as a league and County vase double-header in their own back-yard has been refused by the Dorset club.
The Wiltshire outfit will now have to travel to Meyrick Park for the Dorset and Wiltshire vase quarter-final on February 2, while Oaks visit Laycock Road in the league tomorrow (2.30pm).
Had Corsham's request been accepted by Oaks, it would have meant the winners of tomorrow's encounter walking away with two league points and a place in the semi-final of the vase.
But, despite Oaks being handed home advantage in the draw, Corsham's Nev Smith told the Echo last week that the double-header would have had to be played in Wiltshire as his side wanted to avoid "another long trip in what is already a long season".
Initially, Oaks coach James Croker had told the Echo his side would be willing to make the trip to Laycock Road, but it now appears the Meyrick Parkers were unwilling to give up their home advantage in the vase.
Oaks return to action tomorrow after last week's vase first-round walkover at Wiltshire side Bradford-on-Avon.
Will Croker comes back into the Oakmeadians squad for tomorrow's clash, while Jack Hennings misses out.
Oakmeadians: (from) Blackburn, R Stephenson, Garrett, Riley, Stradwick, W Croker, Flower, Hokianga, Porter, Easterbrook, Harman, Tryska, R Stephenson, Notobartolo, Tait, Kurewaka, Collins, Durrant.
