CHRISTCHURCH manager Graham Kemp has voiced his displeasure after claiming Romsey counterpart Trevor Holmes labelled his side "the worst team we have played all season" in a text message.

Kemp felt his side had dominated Romsey for 80 minutes at Hurn Bridge, with Russell Cook's fifth strike in five games and Zac Glasspool's 51st effort giving them a two-goal lead.

But Paddy James got one back for Romsey with 10 minutes to go leaving Kemp to admit "then it was nip and tuck until the end".

That was it, thought Kemp, three points in the bag, two league wins on the trot and the fear of relegation almost extinguished.

But then Priory's boss claimed he got a late night phone call on Saturday from Glasspool that completely gobsmacked him.

Kemp said: "Romsey's manager took it upon himself to text Zac at 10pm saying How we lost today I will never know. That is the worst side we have played'.

"I think it is totally unacceptable for a manager to text an opposing player with that message. To do that is awful. It shows a complete lack of respect.

"Their secretary came over and shook my hand straight after the game and said you deserved to win'.

"I can't see anyone at the ground thinking we shouldn't have won."

Kemp added: "I can hold my hands up and say Romsey could have scored twice in the last 10 minutes, but over the course of the game we could have had seven or eight."
