CHERRIES boss Scott Parker revealed how he had been impressed with young hotshot Christian Saydee and insisted it “could be an option” to reward him with a new contract.

The 19-year-old has made four first-team appearances for the Dorset club this season, including registering a goal and an assist on his professional debut against MK Dons in July.

Reports this week surfaced that Cherries were keen to tie Hillingdon-born Saydee to a new deal before his current agreement expires in the summer.

Asked by the Daily Echo whether a fresh deal for Saydee was something Cherries were looking at, Parker said: “We could be. That could be an option.

“Christian over pre-season was with us, I was really impressed.

“Since then, he has gone back with the under-23s and I think Coops (Shaun Cooper) and them guys will probably have a better steer on that.

“But certainly, from what I have seen of Christian, he has done very well.

“He did very well for us pre-season, so I am sure there is an option there for us to do that with him.”

Saydee spent seven-and-a-half years in the youth ranks at Reading before joining Cherries at the age of 16.
