CHERRIES fans and former players have paid their tributes to Jamie Vincent, after his death was announced yesterday.
The 46-year-old played 141 matches Cherries, including a Wembley appearance in the 1998 Auto Windscreens Shields Trophy final, alongside the likes of Eddie Howe, Neil Young, Steve Fletcher and Ian Cox.
He spent two spells at Cherries, on loan in 1994 before a permanent stay between 1996 and 1999, scoring six goals.
Vincent, widely regarded as one of the best left-backs in the club’s history, featured for a host of other clubs during his career, including Crystal Palace, Portsmouth, Huddersfield Town and Swindon Town.
His former clubs posted their condolences, including Cherries.
Everyone at the club is desperately saddened to hear that former #afcb defender and Wembley finalist Jamie Vincent has passed away.

For me, Jamie made the position of left back cool, and played a massive part in why I love @afcbournemouth #afcb
Sad to hear of the untimely passing of one of our best left backs. That perfect full back combination of battler and artist. 46… no age at all and love to all his family #afcb #ripjamie pic.twitter.com/SR0I8lYQQq

Not many players gain such universal praise wherever they go. What a left foot.

Absolutely devastated to hear the passing of former team mate and fans favourite Jamie Vincent. One of the finest left backs in the clubs history. Great player but more importantly a truly great person. Always saw the positive in everyone, funny and caring. We all loved him 💔❤️ pic.twitter.com/z6r1TmpJsY
