FERNDOWN Otters' head coach Tony Watson joined three of his swimmers in Nottingham as British Swimming took another step towards the London Olympics.
Naomi Vides, 13, Fran Hughes, 14, and 15-year-old Kim Rowles are among 139 youngsters in the 2012 Target Squad, which met for the first time at the weekend.
The group will be exposed to top level coaching advice, sport science education and training opportunities to ensure they are at the peak of their development in the summer of 2012.
Among those in Nottingham to help them were Olympic medallists David Davies and Graeme Smith, Olympic finalist James Goddard and world championship medallist Cassie Patten.
John Atkinson, Britain's director of world class programmes, said: "This is a collection of some of the most exciting swimming talent I've seen together with a selection of coaches who are continually delivering world class swimmers.
"It's also a fantastic opportunity for the swimmers."
