MORGAN Rogers has been omitted from Cherries' Championship squad for the second half of the season.
Clubs in the second tier are permitted to name 25 players to choose from for league matches.
Rules stipulate players aged 21 or under and owned by the club do not have to be included in the list.
However, following seven signings made during January, there is no longer a spot for Rogers.
The teenager arrived at Cherries on a season-long loan deal from English champions Manchester City in the summer, following an impressive temporary spell at League One Lincoln City last season.
It is understood a clause included an option for Cherries to make the deal for Rogers permanent in the summer.
But after making 17 appearances for Cherries, only three of which came as a starter, Rogers has now been cut from the club's Championship squad.
As deadline approached, reports suggested Man City would recall Rogers, before loaning him out again with clubs such as Huddersfield Town, Blackpool and Hibernian linked.
Despite the English window closing, some transfer options could be open to Rogers across Europe, with him only now being eligible for cup fixtures for Cherries between now and the end of the season.
"Morgan won’t be in the 25-man squad," boss Scott Parker explained to the Daily Echo.
"Morgan knew that. For one reason or another, Morgan and his people didn’t seem to be able to get a deal done in the window.
"I don’t know exactly the reason why that was. But at this present moment in time, there are other markets open which obviously could be an option for Morgan to go and play some games.
"For someone so young, I think that’s key. That’s where that situation currently is."
Discussing Rogers's loan spell as a whole, Parker added: "It hasn’t worked for both really.
"I love Morgan to bits and tried to help and push, but sometimes obviously things don’t work out in the game we’re in.
"We have to recognise that. It’s not gone to plan for one reason or another.
"That’s not really important now. What’s important is there’s a young boy here who has got big talent that needs to probably go and play some football and get some experience that way.
"Hopefully that can happen for him."
Rogers has scored one goal during his loan spell, in a 3-2 defeat at Luton Town last month.
David Brooks has also been left out of the 25-man squad for this season, as he continues his cancer treatment.
