JAMAL Lowe celebrated the birth of his son Ziggy with a dramatic late winner against Stoke City, before declaring: "No more children, but hopefully plenty more goals!"

Lowe struck home to earn Cherries a 2-1 victory against the Potters at Vitality Stadium, shortly after Dominic Solanke had cancelled out Tommy Smith's opener.

And the 27-year-old, who also netted for Portsmouth against Rochdale straight after the birth of his second child, Dexter, back in April 2019, was pleased to mark the occasion of Ziggy's arrival with another special moment.

After Lowe struck, he revealed a shirt to the cameras with the word 'Ziggy' on, dedicating the moment to his newborn.

"I had a shirt with his name printed on it, so that was nice," Lowe told the Daily Echo.

"It’s been a very, very mad couple of days. He was born on Thursday morning, stayed the night in the hotel, brought him home after training Friday and had the first night at home yesterday with the missus and the new baby and then straight in for a winner in the 89th minute.

"It couldn’t have been any better."

Asked about his record of scoring straight after having a child again, Lowe added: "Three in three, third child and third goal straight after.

"I’m going to leave it there, 100 per cent record. No more children, but hopefully plenty more goals!"

Asked if he thinks it is more than coincidence to have scored again after the high of becoming a father again, Lowe said: "Having a child, the adrenaline rush of him finally coming, just that feeling,

"I don’t know, it’s hard to explain. But somehow I’ve just found a way to do it every time."

Discussing match-winner Lowe, boss Scott Parker added: "A big week for Jamal. His wife gave birth on Thursday, so a massive week for him.

"Jamal three weeks ago was training on his own with four other players, not in the squad. They’re the tough decisions I have to make.

"But fair play to the boy - character, resilience in abundance, again how quick it can change for personnel, how quick it can change for teams. He’s come on (against Blackpool), scored the equaliser. Today he’s persevered and scored a goal. So I was pleased for him.

"A big week for him, he’s rounded off that with no better feeling than scoring a winner and having a son born into the world as well."
