PRESTON boss Ryan Lowe insisted his side’s dramatic 2-1 victory over Cherries was “deserved” – but still tipped Scott Parker’s men to go on and seal promotion.

Jamal Lowe had put the visitors in front after 50 minutes at Deepdale, before Cameron Archer levelled just four minutes later.

And Emil Riis came off the bench to find the winning strike for the Lilywhites with just one minute remaining.

Lowe said: “It's an excellent victory and thoroughly deserved, I thought.

“Bournemouth are a fantastic team, they will go up and we had to stick to the game plan, which we did.

“I always believed, with the attacking players we've got, that we would create something and we scored two great goals.

“We knew they'd have loads of the balls with the way they interchange, they cause you problems, but we dealt with it and to go in 0-0 at half time I was pleased.

“I said at half-time to have that little bit of belief that the game was there to win. We had that and the firepower at the top end of the pitch to get us the win.

“We knew we had to dig in and it was a good game of football, with how both teams competed. We fought to get that home win, that we haven't had for a while, so it feels nice. I want to make it a fortress.”

Victory meant Preston have now won four out of their past five games against Cherries in all competitions.
