POOLE Grammar School's young rugby stars are set for a trip to the capital next week to compete in the National Bowl final.
It is the first time the Dorset school have produced a team which have reached this phase of the competition.
Poole Grammar's under-15s, coached by Callum Burt, will face Doncaster-based Hill House School on Tuesday at StoneX Stadium, the home of Premiership giants Saracens.
PGS booked their spot in the national schools' final by beating Dr Challoner's Grammar School of Amersham 22-12 in last week's semis.
Having been beaten 27-22 by Embley in the first round of the National Vase, Poole dropped down into the Bowl, embarking on a storming run.
Prior to beating Challoner's, they received a bye against Budmouth before defeating Priestlands (22-5), and then Backwell (57-17) to set-up a South West A final against Somerset's Holyrood Academy. Burt's side triumphed 42-12, to move through to the national stage.
There they beat Chiselhurst and Sidcup Grammar 29-7, and then Challoner's to secure the big trip to Saracens next week.
