BOURNEMOUTH fighter Gemma Ruegg is gearing up for her next professional fight against the formidable Chloe Watson, who has been trained by former boxing champion Ricky Hatton.

Ruegg is keen to get back into the ring after several recent fights were cancelled and will even be dropping down a weight class from super flyweight to flyweight for her return to action.

She is hoping to use the quick footwork and technical form she demonstrated in her October bout against Claudia Ferenczi, which led her to victory.

When asked what pushes the hard working mother of seven to continue fighting, Ruegg said: "To be able to look back and talk about the opportunities I took, rather than the opportunities I didn't.

"I will take any opportunity that gets thrown my way because it might not come again.

"So when I say I'm ready to fight, I'm going to fight anyone that comes my way."

Ruegg goes into the bout with a professional record of one win, two defeats. Watson has won her only fight so far.

The fight will take place at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle on Saturday and will be televised on Sky Sports, via its dedicated Boxxer channel.
