ROCKETMAN Scott Parker saw Cherries hit the right note in sealing promotion to the Premier League – even if he would prefer to listen to a bit of Elton John in the dressing room!
After Cherries beat Nottingham Forest 1-0 last month to secure their path back to the top flight, Parker asked his players to get it “bouncing” and start the promotion party.
Footage released by the club showed the boss addressing his players post-match.
He said: “One more thing I want – the song we go out to, can we put it on? Another thing lads, I want to see it bouncing!”
Cherries notoriously walk out to Kanye West’s Power ahead of kick-off for home games at Vitality Stadium.
Asked what song was played beforehand in the dressing room, the Cherries boss told the Daily Echo: “It’s one of these latest songs. You’d have to ask Lloyd Kelly, he’s the one who does it!
“Before every game, just before the first bell goes, Lloyd puts on this song.
“I don’t mind the song I asked for. I suppose you just get used to it a little bit. I hear it so often, I hear that sort of music.
“It’s not exactly my cup of tea. I think I’d rather a bit of Elton John or something like that, but I’m not sure that would get the lads going before a big game!”
Asked whether Kelly was fully in charge as dressing room DJ, Parker replied: “It’s mixed around a little bit at times this year, there has been some different genres to be honest with you.
“We have had some house stuff, but I think Lloydy is mainly the one who is in control of it.”
Parker will be looking to get a tune out of his players, when they begin their Premier League fixture schedule in August.
