CHERRIES women have confirmed their pre-season schedule, with Steve Cuss’ side lining up five friendlies over the summer.
All but one of the friendlies will be played at Cherries new home at the Macra Community Stadium, which they share with Wessex League outfit Ringwood Town.
The side had previously operated at Verwood Town’s Potterne Park, as well as playing games at New Milton Town’s Fawcetts Field.
Cherries return to action with the visit of Leafield Athletic, a side who play at the same level of the pyramid, the fourth tier, as the Dorset club. Leafield will travel down from the Midlands on Sunday, July 17, to face Cuss’s charges.
Their next opponents will not have quite as far to travel, with Sherborne Town crossing the county to face Cherries on Sunday, July 24.
AFC Wimbledon are then in town, arriving at the end of the month, on Sunday, July 31, before Cherries play their sole away fixture, against higher-league opposition.
Cherries travel to Somerset-based Bridgwater United, who currently ply their trade in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier, on Sunday, August 7.
The final fixture of the schedule will be a Dorset derby against Weymouth, on Sunday, August 14.
All games will kick-off at 2pm.
