THE SOUTHERN League has confirmed the fixture list for the 2022-23 campaign.

Dorset and New Forest based clubs across the Southern League Premier South and Southern League Division One South found out their opening day opponents, with Poole Town set to travel to Hampshire neighbours Winchester City on Saturday, August 6.

Bashley, making their return to the Southern League after six years, will host Bristol Manor Farm, whilst their fellow promoted side from the Wessex Premier, Hamworthy United, will visit Bideford AFC on Saturday, August 13.

Wimborne Town, relegated from the seventh-tier last term, host Cindeford Town, a side that was saved via a reprieve. Lymington Town visit Paulton Rovers on the first day of the season, prior to hosting New Forest rivals Bashley just three days later, on Tuesday, August 16.

The first Bank Holiday fixtures in the Southern League’s second tier sees Bashley host Hamworthy on Monday, August 29, whilst Wimborne will host Lymington Town in the first meeting between the two sides in the eighth-tier.

In the division above, Poole host Wiltshire rivals Salisbury in the campaign’s first Bokerley Dyke derby.

Looking at Boxing Day, Poole will also be at home, facing Dorset rivals Dorchester.

On the same day, Bashley host Sholing, whilst Lymington Town visit AFC Totton. Wimborne and Hamworthy have been paired on Boxing Day, with the New Cuthbury set to host another Dorset derby.

The next Bank Holiday, Monday, January 2, sees the return of the first Bank Holiday games, with Hamworthy at home to Bashley, whilst Lymington will entertain Wimborne Town.

In the Southern Premier, Salisbury face Poole at the RayMac Stadium.

Whilst there are no Good Friday fixtures in either division, there are Easter Monday games. Dolphins travel to Dorchester in the Southern Prem, whilst Hamworthy United are at home to James Stokoe’s Magpies in the league below.

Bashley visit Sholing, whilst Lymington have home advantage against AFC Totton.

On the final game of the season, Poole travel to Hendon in the Southern Premier, whilst Wimborne Town have been handed a home game against Bideford.

Bashley travel to Paulton Rovers, whilst Tim Sills’ Hammers host Bishops Cleeve. Lymington entertain Slimbridge at the Sports Ground.
