CHRIS Billam-Smith reflected on putting Bournemouth on the boxing map and said: “It means the world. I can’t believe it.”
The Shane McGuigan-trained star’s dream came true at the BIC on Saturday night, when he sealed a unanimous points decision victory over Isaac Chamberlain in front of a packed-out Bournemouth International Centre and a raucous home crowd.
All three judges scored the bout 117-111 in favour of the man nicknamed ‘The Gentleman’.
The Daily Echo was granted access into the fighter’s dressing room after the contest. Billam-Smith gave an emotional interview while receiving treatment.
