BOURNEMOUTH'S three-match winning Southern Premier League spurt was ended when Havant successfully chased down their modest 225-7 to win by five wickets with nine overs to spare, writes Mike Vimpany.
Dorset captain Luke Webb (62) top scored for Bournemouth, enjoying support from Tom Willoughby (24), Lewis Freak (30) and Greg Thew (37) before Rob Pack blasted 36 not out off 16 balls to enhance the total.
Simon Woodruff (4-37) removed Havant openers Stu Ransley and Peter Hopson, but Ben Walker grabbed the initiative to produce a match-winning 72 for the hosts.
He added 64 with Harry Gadd (38) and another 89 with George Metzger (53) which took Havant to the brink of victory.
The Lions sit eighth in the table, with three fixtures remaining, starting at home against Burridge on Saturday.
