WIMBORNE boss Christer Warren refuses to believe his side have "one foot" in the Sydenhams Cup final already despite taking a 3-0 lead into their home clash against Horndean tonight (7.45pm).

Double-chasing Magpies beat their solid mid-table Premier Division rivals 3-0 away in the first leg of their semi-final earlier this month.

So they are odds-on favourites to fix up a final clash against Moneyfields or Fareham, who drew 0-0 in their first meeting and also contest their second leg tonight.

But Warren is unimpressed with the view that Horndean are already beaten, although his side have rattled up three wins and not conceded a goal against the same opposition already this season.

Asked if he felt Wimborne had one foot in the final already, Warren said: "No because everyone knows what a hard team Horndean are to play against.

"It is pleasing we did get half a result at their place, but if they get one early doors against us it will make it interesting.

"We have to apply ourselves as though it is a nil-nil again. We have to show the right attitude right from the start.

"Hopefully that will see us through to the final.

"We are not taking anything for granted, no chance.

"I know we have scored three goals against them but they are a tough side, very physical, and they don't give up.

"It is the only trophy they have to play for this season and they will be coming out all fired up to cut into their deficit.

"So the tie isn't over yet."

Scott Joyce, the Sydenhams League's leading goal scorer with 34 this season, returns to Wimborne's squad after missing their 2-0 home league win over Ringwood because he was serving a one-match ban.

Kevin James is also in contention after sitting out that game through illness.

Warren, meanwhile, was impressed with the 250-strong crowd that turned up to see his title-chasing Magpies take three points against Ringwood on Saturday.

He said: "It was brilliant, absolutely fantastic.

"The weather was pretty awful, so I know what I would have done on Saturday if I had been a supporter, I would have been inclined to stay warm inside at home.

"Our fans have been magnificent, coming out in great numbers to get behind the lads.

"The players really appreciate it, and I'm sure it gives us an extra 10 per cent in the run-in to the title."
