ELLINGHAM and Ringwood completed the double after beating Petersfield 28-20 in the final of the Gales Hampshire Bowl Final on Sunday.
Just two weeks after being crowned Hampshire One champions, E's started well and scored two tries inside the first half-hour.
Number eight James Canneaux scored both, first after a maul drove Petersfield back, and the second after controlling the ball with his feet before putting the ball down to give E's a 10-3 advantage.
But Petersfield rallied with two quickfire tries to put the holders in front at the break, before adding a third on 56 minutes to establish a 20-13 lead.
E's regrouped however, and with the wind behind them they looked a much tougher proposition.
Canneaux completed his hat-trick on the hour, and Andy Weeks converted to bring the scores level and set up a tense finale.
With Petersfield pressing and going for the win, Dawfydd Williams had the ball on the wing before a kick and run enabled him to score a fine individual try to give E's the lead 10 minutes from time.
A solid defence thwarted the holders' bid for an equalising try, and Weeks made sure of the win with a late penalty to ensure E's claimed a fantastic double.
