UNBEATEN Dorset Knob replace St Andrews in the runners-up spot in Division Three of the Hayward Saturday League after upending the Saints 4-1 courtesy of an Anthony Winders hat-trick and a goal from Wayne Smith.

Dorset Knob will turn their attention to seeking another trophy on Thursday night when they meet Twynham Rangers in the Custom UPVC-sponsored M A Hart Page Croft Cup Final at Hurn Bridge (kick-off 7.30 pm).

Twynham Rangers, current holders of the M A Hart Page Croft Cup, warmed up for the final by walloping Bisterne Utd 8-2 with goals from Chris Forbes (2), Alan Etherton (2), Mitchel Keet (2), Gareth Brickhill and Wayne Etherton.

Harrington United are 10 points clear at the top of the table after Ben Mowlem and Ben Osborne ensured a 2-0 success against AFC Burton.

SWAY HELD TO A DRAW

DIVISION One leaders Sway netted via an own goal but they had to settle for a point when Alex Miller's header earned Bournemouth Electric a 1-1 draw.

There was late drama when reigning champions Suttoners Civil boosted their hopes of retaining the title by winning 2-1 against Westover Bournemouth. Darren Spires put Suttoners in front from 25 yards in the second half but Westover equalised through Anderson Zanotto.

Things looked grim for Suttoners when goalkeeper Adam Dix was sent off but they grabbed a vital winner two minutes from time when a free-kick from joint player-manager Stuart Lanham was headed on by Joe Kittle for John Blake to provide the finishing touch.

Ashley Boyt netted for Hamworthy Recreation but Old Oakmeadians go third in the table after Sean Huggins, Alan Marsh and Keith Fitz-John gave them the upper hand 3-1.

Liam McGlynn struck for Southbourne but Trinidad held them to a 1-1 draw thanks to Dan Ravelin while Ben Read scored all four goals in Redlynch and Woodfalls United's 4-0 victory over Pennington St Marks.

FERNDOWN FALTER

FERNDOWN Town looked to have the Division Two title in the bag but three successive defeats have considerably lengthened their odds. Promotion rivals Urban Bournemouth were the latest team to lower Ferndown's colours, drubbing them 6-2 thanks to Charlie Richards, Joe Harris, Alex Eley and an Ed Ewens hat-trick.

Mudeford Men's Club also suffered a setback when they went down 4-1 to goals from John Turle (2), Mark Pudney and Glen Garner against Bournemouth Electric Reserves.

Parley Sports remain in contention after tonking AFC Highcliffe 5-1 with goals from Jon Brown, Jon Ladhams, Mike La Ronde, Neil Johnstone and Anthony Cocorachio while Alf Andrew settled the issue 1-0 for Westover Bournemouth Reserves against Allendale.

JUST ONE POINT NEEDED

PORTCASTRIAN need one point from their remaining games to take the Division Four title after Dan Jones, Lewis Dear and Ben Virabi ensured a 3-0 victory over Old Oakmeadians Reserves.

Championship rivals Aldershot were 2-0 winners against Wessex Lions with goals from Ollie Reynolds and Kevin Crabb and they leapfrog Walkford who suffered a shock 2-1 defeat against relegation battlers Newtown Con whose goals came via Matthew Miles and Simon Graham.

PARKSIDE VICTORY

MARCUS Diffey put Griffin in front against Parkside Wanderers but the Division Five leaders came back to win 4-1 with Joe Bond and Dean Johnson bagging two each.

Nearest rivals Suttoners Civil A suffered a shock defeat against St Andrews Reserves who hauled themselves off the bottom of the table when Lascelles Richardson and Dave Brown gave them the verdict 2-1.

Ashley Gritt struck twice for Bisterne United Reserves but their title hopes were dented when Bournemouth EMS held them to a 2-2 draw with both goals coming from Dan Offley.

M A Hart Hayward Cup winners Bearwood United were convincing 7-2 winners against Magpies and Woolsbridge United Reserves thanks to Leighton Clarke (2), Steve Clarke, Shaun Stevenson, Colin Webb, Marc Scrimshaw and Jamie Lever.

HIGHCLIFFE CLOSE IN

AFC Highcliffe Reserves are three points adrift of Division Six leaders Redlynch and Woodfalls United A as the leading pair go into their last two games.

Ollie Wells (2), Stuart Harvey (2) and Martin Britton were the Highcliffe marksmen when they tanned Little Brit Inn 5-1 to virtually clinch promotion.
