VERWOOD boss Adie Arnold blasted his side for "wasting a lifeline" after they fell to a last-gasp goal.
The visitors had gone ahead with 15 minutes to go as Town struggled badly.
But Chris Lynch was harshly ruled to have been brought down inside the box and Matt Newbury tucked away the penalty to make it 1-1.
Arnold said: "We had a lifeline, a penalty, a harsh decision against them.
"I would have taken a point after playing poorly, but we didn't shut up shop and got punished."
Verwood goalkeeper Chris Willis uncharacteristically spilled a late effort with the rebound being prodded home.
Verwood: Willis, Elysee, Martin Newbury, Lynch, Faulkner, Findlay (Giles 65), Beverley (Murray 60), Arnold, Dyer, Matt Newbury, Goodall (Homer, ht).
