CHERRIES Women have been handed a home draw in the FA Cup third qualifying round, with lower league opposition in the form of Forest Green Rovers set to visit the Macra Community Stadium.
One tier of the women’s footballing pyramid separate the two sides, with Gloucestershire-based Forest Green plying their trade in the South West Regional Women's Football League, the division below Cherries’ National League Division One South West home.
The tie will be held at Ringwood Town on Sunday, October 23, with kick-off still to be confirmed.
Rovers dispatched Weston-super-Mare 8-0 in the previous qualifying round to book their place in the third qualifying round.
Last campaign Steve Cuss’ side reached the second round proper, the furthest into the competition Cherries have reached.
At this stage of the competition, winning sides receive £4,000, whilst losing teams will still be awarded £1,000.
