BILL Foley has reached a "verbal agreement" to buy Cherries, with the deal expected to be completed in the coming days, according to a report by The Athletic.

Foley jetted in from Las Vegas to Bournemouth earlier this week, and has been at Vitality Stadium today, watching the first team train.

The 77-year-old is set to take in his first Cherries match this weekend, watching on from the stands for the visit of Leicester City.

The deal, for a reported £120million, has not yet been concluded, but is edging ever closer. It would spell the end of Maxim Demin's decade-long association with the club.

American billionaire Foley is the majority owner of National Hockey League side the Vegas Golden Knights.

He is also the chairman of one of the US’ largest insurance companies, Fidelity National Financial.

Foley's deal to purchase Cherries is not expected to be fully ratified for a number of weeks.

Paperwork related to the sale is expected to be completed in the coming days. The deal will then be referred to the Premier League, to undergo the owners and directors test.

Providing there are no hitches, Foley could be running the club from mid-November.
