TOTTENHAM boss Antonio Conte insisted his side had to “play more nasty” in a bid to topple Cherries on Saturday.
Spurs ended their three-game winless run with a dramatic 3-2 victory at Vitality Stadium after second-half goals from Ryan Sessegnon, Ben Davies and Rodrigo Bentancur.
Bentancur completed the visitors’ comeback from two goals down with a side-footed finish in the second minute of stoppage-time to spark jubilant celebrations from the away fans.
But former Juventus manager Conte gave credit to Gary O’Neil’s side after Kieffer Moore’s double had put the Dorset club in the box seat.
“I don’t want to think what my mood would be if we lose this game to be honest.
“Also after the first half my feeling was positive. The only situation I asked of my players is we had to show more personality, to take more responsibility.
“I think in the second half, despite conceding the second goal, we started to play more nasty. "With a desire to win, with a desire to hurt the opponent.
“Not only to move the ball and show 'look, we are good, we are so nice'. But in an effective way. We created many chances to score at the end, we won the game at a difficult stadium.
Because Bournemouth is a really good team.”
Cherries had lined up with three centre-backs against the north London outfit, as well as playing two strikers in Moore and Dominic Solanke.
Conte added: “It is not easy to play against them because when they play with these two strikers, it is very difficult also to put pressure on.
“Because every time you go to put pressure, they play a long ball. They have good combination between these two good strikers.
“But in the end it was vital for us, this win. Especially after two losses in the Premier League.”
