TIM Jenkins has joined Cherries, leaving his role in Liverpool’s academy, Gary O’Neil confirmed.
The pair worked together at the Reds, before O’Neil joined Cherries in February 2021.
And Jenkins has now been added to Cherries’ first-team coaching staff, following the appointment of O’Neil as permanent head coach.
“Tim Jenkins has joined from Liverpool,” confirmed O’Neil.
“It’s a great addition for us. He’s an intelligent guy. I worked with him while I was there.
“He has a real in-depth knowledge of the game. I hope he doesn’t mind me saying, but he’s had opportunities to move on from Liverpool’s academy a few times and has decided that this was the one for him.
“He’d been there a long time, 10 years I think he was there, did some real good work with some top players.
“He’s going to be a fantastic addition for us. The make-up of the rest will be confirmed shortly, hopefully.”
Cherries legends Tommy Elphick and Shaun Cooper had been working as assistant head coaches to O’Neil on an interim basis, prior to the World Cup break, stepping up from their roles with the development squad.
Jenkins, also formerly of Manchester City, held the role of under-18s assistant manager at Liverpool prior to making the switch to link up with O’Neil.
