GARY O’Neil insists Cherries will “fix” their problems of defending set pieces, adding: “I don’t expect it to be a problem for too much longer.”
Cherries conceding a 13th goal from either a corner or free-kick, during Tuesday night’s 3-0 defeat at Manchester United, as Casemiro volleyed home unmarked after a fine ball from Christian Eriksen.
It came on the back of conceding twice from corners against Crystal Palace on Saturday, with Cherries now having let in more from set pieces than any other side in the Premier League.
Reflecting on the latest goal conceded from a dead ball situation, O’Neil told the Daily Echo: “Very different to the others.
“We’ve conceded a lot from corners, so we’ve worked really hard on those in the last few days. And then we concede from a wide set play.
“The quality on the ball is obviously big, but there is reasons we conceded.
“But we’ll fix it. We’ll fix corners and we’ll fix free-kicks as well. I don’t expect it to be a problem for too much longer.”
Cherries take a break from league action this weekend, hosting Championship leaders Burnley in the third round of the FA Cup.
