GARY O’Neil described as “strange” the injury suffered by Dominic Solanke in training this week.
Striker Solanke missed Saturday’s trip to Brentford, due to a knee problem, just the third league fixture he has not featured in this season.
Without him, Cherries lost 2-0 at the Gtech Community Stadium, courtesy of goals from Ivan Toney and Mathias Jensen.
Asked for an update on Solanke, O’Neil told the Daily Echo: “Unfortunate. There was no-one really around him and it was just a strange incident in training.
“He felt some pain in his knee. We don’t exactly what it is, but we are hopeful it’s not going to be too long.”
Rumours circling on social media on Friday night suggested Solanke could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
O’Neil said: “I tend not to listen to rumours, I’ll wait for the doc to tell me.”
