CHERRIES picked up their first point under Gary O’Neil’s permanent reign with a 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest at the weekend.
Jaidon Anthony’s first-half opener was not enough for the hosts to hold on to, former Cherry Sam Surridge popping up to level six minutes from time.
The point saw Cherries drop into the relegation zone for the first time this season, after a run of 11 games that have seen Cherries take five points from a possible 33.
Here are some other interesting facts and figures arising from the game:
6 - Bournemouth are now unbeaten in their past six meetings with Nottingham Forest, winning four and drawing two.
7 – Cherries ended a run of seven hours of football since their last league goal, with Anthony scoring their third in the 69th minute of their 3-0 win over Everton back in November.
3 - Forest’s late equaliser was just their third away goal in the Premier League this campaign, earning them just their sixth point from 10 trips (P10 W1 D3 L6).
1 – Sam Surridge grabbed his first ever Premier League goal with his late equaliser. The Cherries academy graduate took 19 appearances to open his top flight account.
28 – Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White has not managed a goal or assist in any of his 28 Premier League away appearances, stretching back to his time as a Wolves player
7 - Andrew Madley has refereed Cherries in seven different league fixtures, with the Dorset club undefeated in those games (P6 W4 D3). He made his debut as a Premier League match official in Cherries’ 2-2 draw at Watford in March, 2018.
2 - Jordan Zemura and Dango Ouattara became the first Zimbabwean-Burkinabè combo to start a Premier League game since Marvelous Nakamba and Bertrand Traore started for Aston Villa against Chelsea in May 2021. Ouattara became just the second Burkina Faso international to play in the Premier League, after Traore.
1 – There was another first on Saturday, with Ouattara becoming the first Cherry to assist a goal on his debut for the club in the Premier League.
3 – Surridge became the third Cherries academy graduate to score against his former club in the Premier League, following in the footsteps of Danny Ings and Sam Vokes. With Jaidon Anthony scoring Cherries’ goal, it is the first time in the Premier League where a Cherries academy graduate has scored for both teams.
