BOSS Gary O’Neil refused to single anybody out for praise for the set-piece goal Cherries scored against Newcastle United, insisting it was a “team effort”.
Cherries broke the deadlock against the Magpies when Hamed Traore’s corner was flicked on by Dango Ouattara and turned in at the back post by Marcos Senesi.
Miguel Almiron later equalised as the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
During Scott Parker’s reign as Cherries boss, coach O’Neil played a key role in organising offensive set pieces.
Asked who takes the credit for Senesi’s goal, O’Neil told the Daily Echo: “A team effort, that.
“I thought set plays were very good. The goal was nice and against a very good set-play team we defended very well.
“Lots of people, analysts, coaches, players, there’s a lot of cogs in that to make sure it works the way it does and it worked really, really well. It was a good goal.”
