FORMER Cherries boss Scott Parker took charge of his first Champions League game on Tuesday night, his Club Brugge side losing 2-0 to Benfica.
Second-half goals from Joao Mario and David Neres mean Parker’s side have it all do in the second leg of the round of 16, which will be hosted in Benfica’s Estadio da Luz in three weeks’ time.
Parker was dismissed as Cherries boss four games into the Premier League season after airing his grievances over recruitment in press conference.
Appointed manager of Club Brugge in December, the former Fulham manager has won just once in the eight games since his appointment.
The reigning Belgian champions are currently fourth, 20 points off Genk who lead the Belgian Pro League.
As a player Parker played 11 times in the Champions League for Chelsea.
