MANCHESTER City boss Pep Guardiola believed his side performed better in their draw with Nottingham Forest than their win over Cherries.
The Cityzens had drawn their two games prior to visiting the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, being held 1-1 by Nottingham Forest last weekend before a midweek draw of the same scoreline in the Champions League against RB Leipzig.
Cherries found themselves 3-0 down at the break after City had punished their mistakes at the back, Julian Alvarez, Erling Haaland and Phil Foden all on the scoresheet.
In the second half Chris Mepham’s own goal made it four, before Jefferson Lerma grabbed a consolation effort late on for a final scoreline of 4-1.
Talking about the performance, Guardiola shared: “Considering the amount of games away, a lot of travel, we performed incredibly aggressive and we attacked more than any, and we got a good result.
“We played better against Nottingham Forest than we did today, we created more chances against Nottingham Forest than we did today.
“Both games were really good, I think both games we played to win. Unfortunately, Nottingham could not happen, because football if football.”
“It's important to get back to winning games,” said Pep.
“I'm very pleased with what I see and what I'm seeing every day.
“The mood in the locker room is exceptional and the training sessions are really, really good - everyone is helping each other.
“It's tough because we have played a lot of games away this month a lot.
“No recovery, every three days games and big travels a lot of pressure and demands physicality.
“Today, to come here and perform the way we did made me feel we still have the desire to try.
“We will try to fight for this Premier League, I don’t have any doubts.”
Asked if he was annoyed to see Lerma score and ruin City’s cleansheet, Guardiola replied: “No. A lot of changes, a lot of young players on the pitch.”
