LIVERPOOL fired an ominous warning sign to the rest of the Premier League that they are over their recent slump with a staggering 7-0 win over in-form rivals Manchester United.

Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah all bagged braces, before Roberto Firmino added further gloss to the tally at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp's Reds have been well off the pace this season, losing 3-0 to relegation-threatened Wolves just last month.

But they have kept five clean sheets on the spin in the league since, picking up 13 points, to move up to fifth in the table.

Speaking after the game, Klopp said: “It’s one for the history books and not for the moment. We take all the positives pretty much apart from the scoreline because that’s a bit of a freak, but all the rest we take 100 per cent and want to bring it on the pitch again and again.”

This upturn in form could not have come at a worse time for Cherries, who welcome Liverpool to Vitality Stadium on Saturday (12.30pm).

A heartbreaking 3-2 defeat at Arsenal over the weekend left Gary O'Neil's men bottom of the table with 13 games to play.
