FORMER Cherries boss Scott Parker admitted he was “not sure” of his future after his current side, Club Brugge, were thrashed 5-1 by Benfica and knocked out of the Champions League.

Reports from Belgium suggest that Parker’s “hours are numbered”, with outlet nieuwsblad.be suggesting that Club Brugge are looking to re-appoint Alfred Schreuder, who led the side to the league title last year before joining Dutch giants Ajax last summer.

Appointed at the end of December by the reigning Belgian champions, Parker has endured a torrid time in Bruges, winning just two of his 12 games in charge.

Parker has been unable to settle on a fixed starting XI, naming a changed side for each fixture, whilst also experimenting by deploying players out of position.

It appears things may have come to a head at the Jan Breydel Stadium after a 3-0 defeat to relegation threatened KV Oostende at the weekend was followed by a humiliation at the hands of Benfica on Tuesday night.

Asked about his future after the 7-1 aggregate loss, Parker told BT Sport: "I am not sure. I am not in control of that.

"I understand why you are asking me that question and it has probably been aimed at me for some weeks now.

"I can't really control that. I am not in that position to understand it and you are asking probably the wrong person.

"What I am is fully committed in trying to turn this around and that is what I will try to do."

Parker was sacked by Cherries at the end of August following comments made by the former Tottenham and Chelsea midfielder in the wake of the record-equaling 9-0 defeat suffered away at Liverpool.

Club Brugge marks his first role since departing the Vitality Stadium, and his third job in total.

Parker began his management career at Fulham, where he experience two relegations from the Premier League whilst also earning promotion from the Championship on one occasion.
