ANTOINE Semenyo’s international break away with Ghana ended in a 1-1 draw in qualifying for the African Cup of Nations.

The Cherries striker started and played 60 minutes of the Black Stars’ stalemate with Angola, before being swapped out for Athletic Club’s Inaki Williams.

Reading frontman Lucas João gave the hosts the lead from the spot early on in the second period, before Osman Bukari 20 minutes from time.

Semenyo had snatched a late winner in the first meeting between the two teams on Thursday, with Ghana currently topping Group E with eight points from their first four fixtures.

Their final two qualifiers will be staged in June, when Ghana travel to bottom side Madagascar before a meeting at home with second-placed Central African Republic.

The top two teams in each qualifying pool will advance to the finals, which are set to be staged in the Ivory Coast in January 2024.
