MARCUS Tavernier is “praying” his latest hamstring concern is “nothing too serious”.
The winger was forced off at St Mary’s during the second half on Thursday night, having scored what proved to be the match-winning goal.
Since arriving from Middlesbrough last summer, Tavernier has made a big impact with five goals and four assists in his debut Premier League campaign.
However, the 24-year-old has also missed 10 league matches due to two separate hamstring issues.
Asked how serious he fears this one may be, Tavernier told the Daily Echo: “It’s early days.
“I just felt tightness in my hamstring and I know this season I’ve had some frustrating times with them.
“I’m praying at the moment it’s nothing too serious, but I’ll see what the medical team say and we move forward from there. Hopefully it’s nothing too serious.”
