CHERRIES have confirmed that season ticket prices will increase for the first time in eight years.
According to the club, season ticket prices will increase by a “blended average" of 9.7 per cent in what is the first price rise since the 2015/16 season, Cherries’ first in the Premier League.
In a letter to season ticket holders explaining the decision, president of business Jim Frevola shared: “As a successful season winds down, we are pressing ahead with our plans for another year in the Premier League, our seventh in the last nine. As part of this, we have published the pricing structure of our 2023/24 season tickets.
“Overall, season ticket prices will be increased by a blended average of 9.7 per cent.
“However, over 75 per cent of Vitality Stadium seats will see just an 8 per cent increase. This is the first change to season ticket prices in eight years. Junior Cherries under eight will remain complimentary.
“We understand the cost of living is increasing, and these are challenging times financially for many within our community. I assure you this decision has been taken with great care and consideration.
“There is plenty to be positive about at the club right now.
“From the new ownership acquisition, the successful January transfer window, and securing our Premier League status, it has been an incredible opening six months.
“We have started work on the indoor pitch at our new Canford facility, with significant investment being committed towards improving infrastructure for the entire organisation.
“We have made great strides to update areas of Vitality Stadium and will continue to make improvements this summer, including enhancements in your overall matchday experience.
“In addition, the women's team will see considerable development in the coming seasons. Next year they will play two home matches at Vitality Stadium.
“We are bundling these matches on top of our season ticket packages as we want you to support all our teams.
“This incremental fee of £5-£7 per match, based on seat type, will be added to your season ticket payments.
“I hope you share my excitement about what we are building.
“The goal is not just to survive in the Premier League, but to compete every season. We need your support to achieve this.
“Together, we will keep the red flag flying high!”
