CHRISTIAN Saydee said he is “buzzing” after completing a move to League One Portsmouth, swapping Dorset for Hampshire on the south coast.

Shortly after Cherries’ extended the 21-year-old’s contract by exercising a clause in his contract, it was announced that Saydee had moved to Pompey on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Pompey’s interest in the striker has been long held, with Saydee playing two friendlies in Portsmouth colours last summer whilst on trial at Fratton Park.

Whilst a move did not transpire last season, Saydee instead spending the season on loan at fellow third-tier outfit Shrewsbury, the forward revealed he had his heart set on joining Pompey.

He told the club’s website: “I’ve been wanting to come here for a while now, so I’m really happy. I’m buzzing.

“I first heard there was some interest a couple of months ago and then I spoke to the gaffer and he made me feel comfortable.

“When I came here last summer everyone was really nice and now I can’t wait to get among the group and start training again.”

In total, Saydee made six senior appearances for Cherries, scoring once, in a 5-0 routing of MK Dons in the Carabao Cup at the start of the 2021-22 season.
